Public Engagement and IP Discovery

Here you’ll find all the ways Novalock Publishing plans to bring the brand and its services to the broader public and find potential customers to purchase our service.

NovaPitch

Regular, informal Query Conversation™ meetups at small coffee shops or breweries. These are relaxed story pitch sessions where creatives can talk through their ideas over coffee or a drink, getting immediate feedback and learning about Novalock's process.

StoryDrop by Novalock

Eye-catching booths at events like Gallery Night, Mardi Gras, or Pensacon. Sell books alongside the Query Conversation™. Have interactive displays and merch asking, "What's Your Story?" and invite people for conversations on the spot. This directly targets the desired demographic.

Novalock University

Collaboration with the college English and/or Creative Writing departments. Offer guest lecture spots on publishing, run workshops, sponsoring a short story contest where the prize includes a potential sxholl-sponsored publishing path with Novalock.

Author Showcases & Collaboration

Partner with existing independent bookstores to host joint events featuring local authors alongside Novalock's future published works. Cross-promote and build a supportive local literary ecosystem.

Local Creative Group Partnerships

Offer small sponsorships or partnerships for local writing groups, book clubs, Dungeons & Dragons/Tabletop RPG groups, or even fan meetups (e.g., for anime or specific fandoms) happening in high-sales towns. This builds goodwill and connects you directly with your target market.

NovaLive

Connecting with local acting groups. Host workshops on adapting stage plays into narrative fiction or vice versa. Offer Query Conversations™ specifically for playwrights and actors who have story ideas sparked by their theatrical work.

“[City Name Here]” Writes

Launch a themed anthology project specifically for writers in a given city. Use the "Query Conversation™" model for submissions. This generates local buzz, provides content, and builds the author network simultaneously. Themes could relate to history, landmarks, or culture.

Novalock and Necromancers

Partner with local game stores (like TBS Comics or Price Busters Games) to run storytelling challenges or RPG one-shots where the scenarios could potentially be developed into Novalock stories. Offer discounts or consultation prizes.
